About Lisa Morgan

I moved to Woodland Shores from south Texas in early 2021 with my husband, our two kids, and our dog. We may not have lived in the The Shores for long, but this very special place already feels more like home to me than any other place on Earth.

FAQ page added to website.

My family has been in The Shores for a year now, and we've asked many, many questions about the neighborhood and its surroundings since we moved in. Recently, during a conversation with a fellow property owner, the subject of a Woodland Shores FAQ was suggested (thanks, Tim!). What a great idea to have a place where questions can be asked -- and answered -- by our community members! So, we've started an FAQ. Please send any [...]

What’s the story on Shores Parking Permits?

Why are parking stickers or guest hangtags required on vehicles parked in Woodland Shores common areas? Tim Lail remembers: Years ago we had a lot of outside people and businesses that used our facilities without permission, especially the Dock Builders. Due to the size and central location of our boat ramp, dock builders used our ramp to load out docks to other locations on the lake. Their equipment and materials are heavy. The concrete [...]

Who’s in charge of the little library in the park?

Who do we have to thank for the little library in the Park? I don't know who is responsible for this neat little library in the park (across from the community center) but I'd like for them to know how much enjoyment I've received from it. There is always something interesting, entertaining, or inspiring to read, and the last time we stopped by someone had left a box of crayons, as well. I'm thinking about buying [...]

What is the history of the Woodland Shores sign in the park?

What's the history of this sign in the park? This beautiful sign appeared in the park recently and I'd love to know the story behind it. Who made it? I gather from it's orientation facing the water that it's primarily for boat traffic to see. I think it's wonderful, and would like to know the details.[Edit 2-23-22: Thanks to comments left by several Woodland Shores property owners (see comments section below) I learned that this sign is [...]

Oklahoma §11-42-106.1

Oklahoma §11-42-106.1 Late last summer the WSPOA Board of Directors called for the creation of a committee of Woodland Shores property owners (all interested parties are welcome to participate) to review Woodland Shores' outdated covenants and suggest how they might be revised to reflect the growth and maturity that The Shores has undergone since it was established over fifty years ago. Members of the committee and the WSPOA board met with an attorney to discuss the covenant [...]

What happens to the cans collected in The Shores?

Why are aluminum cans collected in The Shores? Property owners in Woodland Shores enjoy paved streets throughout most of the neighborhood, but that wasn't always the case. Many residents remember dirty, rocky roads that were hard on vehicle tires, and an ever-present source of dust that coated the interior of homes in The Shores. As most community action happens, paving of our neighborhood roads started when a couple of property owners got together and began problem [...]

February WSPOA meeting cancelled.

February WSPOA meeting cancelled. Due to winter storm, the February meeting of the WSPOA Board of Directors scheduled for Saturday, February 5th has been cancelled. The next regularly scheduled meeting will take place at 9am on March 5th. This winter weather cancellation made me wonder if there would be any interest in making remote meeting attendance (via the internet) possible in some form or fashion. The only two methods I'm familiar with are Zoom meetings and [...]

A snow angel in Woodland Shores.

A snow angel in Woodland Shores. I know that nobody likes to hear their new neighbors talk about how they used to do things back in Texas, or California, or Timbuktu but y’all… we just can’t help it. This new place we’ve moved to, with its independence, and its freedom and its friendly welcomes, it’s just… disorienting. And we can’t help but compare the excellence of our new home to those places we’ve lived in previously. And [...]
