Bald Eagle in Woodland Shores.

Oh, say, can you see? Marc Morgan walks the Shores nearly every morning. It's a great way to meet the neighbors, and start the day with energy and focus. This time of year his walks begin before sunrise, but by the time he works his way down to the point the sun is usually up, which is good because otherwise he would have missed this bald eagle perched in a tree at the end of Tulsa, by [...]

Looking for a Rainbow Connection.

What an extraordinary sight! Marc Morgan captured this morning rainbow arching over the Shores community center. Perfect timing -- on the day before our community vote on community covenants revisions. Somehow, this rainbow restores within me -- if only for a precious few minutes -- the hope and promise of community peace. Covenants revision has been a divisive issue in the Shores for months. Here's hoping that tomorrow's vote will bring some resolution. There are many viewpoints being [...]

Drone video of flooded cove.

Drone video of the Shores park and cove during May's high water event.  Many days of rainfall in NE Oklahoma and up north in Kansas resulted in massive amount of water flowing into Grand Lake. Lake levels rose, and our cove saw lake water come all the way up to our park wall, making docks inaccessible, and our lighthouse partially swallowed up by the lake.Once the winds died down, Tim Lail took his drone out to have [...]

Woodland Shores from above.

A bird's-eye view of the Shores. Ever wondered what our neighborhood looks like from above? I have, and Tim Lail must have, too. He took his drone and sent it way up high for a good look around. Click on the video to the right to see a bird's-eye view of our park, Grand Lake, the cove, and the properties surrounding it. The video has gorgeous picture quality and great detail. Have a look. And if [...]

Mystery swirling in night sky over Woodland Shores!

Mystery swirling in night sky over Woodland Shores! Wow!! Did anyone else catch that crazy sight in the night sky tonight around 7pm? We were just arriving home and when we got out of the car we were STUNNED to see a sight that was like something out of a Sci-Fi space series. From our viewpoint near the Woodland Shores entrance sign, looking toward the north, about 45 degrees above the horizon was a HUGE swirl looking [...]
