Don’t forget to subscribe to the Cleora Fire Department!
When I contacted the Cleora Community Fire Department asking for information to post on the NewResidents page of this website, I got the nicest reply with the following information:
- Annual subscription rate is $55.00, due June 16th.
- You can pay with cash, check, or debit card. Debit card option is available in person at the station.
- Located behind the new Dollar General in Cleora. 30577 S. Hwy 85 Afton, OK 74331
- The station email address is cleorafire@boltfiber.net and phone number is 918-782-9100. If it’s an emergency call 9-1-1 and ask for them to send the Cleora community fire department.
- The CCFD has a FaceBook page where they post about their training exercises, weather services, and community events. Multiple Cleora firefighers have access to this page and will respond to messages.

The email reply that I received from the CCFD included the Notice of Annual Meeting picture here. I saw this same notice posted on their FB page with the following explanation:
Our fire dues have changed this year. They will be due June 16,2022 and your subscription covers all the way to June 15, 2023. These dues help us keep our trucks in working shape and put fuel in them also the dues helps us buy new equipment for our firefighters and the community that we care so much about. Thank you from the Cleora community Fire Department.
Here’s hoping that we never need to call the fire department for emergency help. But, if we do, I consider the $55.00 subscription fee to be a rip-roaring bargain. And, since I don’t plan on having a fire emergency any time soon, I just think of my subscription as a very affordable way to help out my neighbors and my community. Because it’s important to do whatever we can, whenever we can. Great big thanks to the Cleora Community Fire Department for taking care of us!

A few years ago I asked the Department if it was sufficiently funded. The Chief said, yes, it’s finances were driven by adherence to the budget. Remarkable.
